I love this website:

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Chiropractor and Massage
I just took a toxins survey for the chiropractors office. Why have I never been to a chiropractor until now? It is SO up my alley! They also do massages in this office, which I will have to check out for sure. I've been told massages help release toxins stored in your body :)
I like the idea of a chiropractor, but it is so difficult for me to not "see" any results. I really don't feel different either.. yet. But I am really excited!
It is very interesting to me that this office is not just focused on one thing, they really focus on common sense things like exercise, nutrition and avoiding chemicals. Hmm, I don't every hear about ANY of these things at a normal M.D's office.
They even had a brochure out in the office that explained the dangers of vaccines for pregnant women, specifically the flu vaccine. It states right on the front - Mercury is a neurotoxin! You would definitely not be explained this in a normal doctors office. So far, I am loving this whole experience and it is just amazing to find professionals that support the things I believe in.

The Vaccine Debate
This will be the first of many, many posts on this subject. I am so conflicted with this. Do the benefits of vaccines outweigh the risks? Does it make sense for a newborn baby need to be given a shot at one hour old that is for protection against an STD?
What are the INGREDIENTS in the vaccines?
My other children did receive most of their vaccines, although we spaced them out on a much longer schedule. I will never agree that giving a 3 month old baby 6 shots in one day could possibly be a good idea.
Have you ever asked your pediatrician or nurse what is in the vaccine? Usually, they do not know. This is super scary. When it comes to toxins and preservatives I have learned they go hand in hand, and I do know that vaccines must have preservatives in them... so WHAT are they?
I am just starting my journey of reading and debating this subject, and also finding out what is legal in Ohio. I was completely lied to by Riverside Hospital when my littlest was born and we asked to forgo the eye goo and Vit K shot and they said we did not have a choice in Ohio (which is completely false!)... I need to be better informed this time and luckily I have a few months to decide what we are doing.
Any advice or book/ website suggestions, please post a comment below.
Thank you!

To Cut or not to Cut!
Corey and I have discussed this topic many, many times. I honestly don't think I could subject my baby to a circumcision at just a few days old. BUT, I also don't want to have a son who as a teen or adult decides to have this done because we did not do it. I have heard that the statistics are more evenly split in the US now between circumcised and uncircumcised.
But, of course I have to ask the question, is there any push for this procedure due to financial motivation? Of course the doctor, hospital, etc., makes a little extra for performing this, but take it a step further. WHERE do the foreskins go? This is interesting to find out that this is HUGE business. With all my research on cosmetics and ingredients I heard something once about chemical testing and use of foreskin in cosmetics, so I decided to look this up and found some other shocking info!
This is a multimillion-dollar a year industry! Some hospitals in the past have been known to sell discarded foreskins to private bio-research laboratories and pharmaceutical companies. I also learned that foreskin can be used to manufacture insulin.
Check it out! Might make you think twice about it!

June 9, 2010 Positive Test!
Oh my... this is just the beginning and already I am completely overwhelmed... and exhausted. Just last week I was not feeling well and kept saying over and over that something is not right, and maybe I have mono. Nope, not mono, just a baby! I have NEVER felt this tired before, though. Just a hunch that it might be twins... or maybe a boy!
After going through the phase of being in denial and shock, we are already talking baby names. We might just wait for this one till the birthday to find out the sex, so we will have to have at least 2 names ready this time.
This non-toxic mission is definitely completely impossible, but it doesn't make me want to give up. I just have to accept that and try to continue making small changes in the less-chemical direction!

Under Construction

My purpose for this blog is to document my adventure in trying to have a non-toxic baby! I am a mom of 3 girls and have been trying to slowly make changes to rid the toxins from our house. My goal is to try to have our next baby be completely non-toxic!
The average baby is born with 285 toxic chemicals in their cord blood!
I am hoping that with all the research and reading I've been doing, and changes we've been trying to make, that our next baby will be born with a lot LESS chemicals then the average. I know that a lot of the cord blood toxins come from things in our environment, a lot of which are not under my control. BUT, I am choosing to change the food and products in our house because these are the things I can control. I have learned that some of these cord blood toxins have been traced back to products the mother uses during pregnancy.
I am not pregnant right now, but the plan is to document our adventures in this impossible task!
